Pellowah in Ringwood

Pellowah (hands off, no contact) 

Pellowah is a gentle, hands off, non-touch modality that works with a calm, meditative state to support relaxation and balance. It was developed several decades ago by Kachina Ma'an, who established clear  guidelines to maintain consistency and integrity in how it is practised. Owen trained to practitioner level with Jeremy O'Carroll  who referred him directly to Kachina for teacher training. Owen offers Pellowah within a professional, grounded framework. 

Many people experience Pellowah as:

• Increased clarity and presence

• A sense of calm and grounding

• Expanded awareness

• Emotional ease

• A feeling of reconnection to self and life

Pellowah does not require belief, effort, or intention. It works beyond the thinking mind, allowing change to unfold naturally. Pellowah is often described as supporting a radical shift in consciousness rather than a traditional “healing session”.

The Pellowah experience

Pellowah is provided without physical touch.

• Hands are held above the body

• This may range from a few inches to several feet away

• You remain fully clothed throughout

Sessions are usually conducted with you lying comfortably, with a blanket if desired.

A brief discussion takes place beforehand to understand your needs and ensure everything is clear.

During the session

The emphasis is on allowing the body and mind to settle naturally.

There is nothing you need to do.

 You can simply relax and allow the process to unfold.

Many people experience:

• deep relaxation

• a sense of calm or stillness

• reduced mental activity

Some sessions feel subtle, while others may feel deeply or even profoundly settling.

After the session

At the end of the session:

• you are given time to rest quietly

• this allows the experience to settle and integrate

This period may be a few minutes, or slightly longer depending on your preference.

Pellowah is offered as part of a broader approach to relaxation and wellbeing.

• Sessions are clearly explained

• Your comfort and consent are central

• You may ask questions or adjust the session at any time

This work supports relaxation and balance and can complement other forms of care.

You do not need to understand Pellowah in advance.

The value comes from the experience itself —
a quiet space to rest, settle, and feel more at ease.

Owen offers sessions but is not currently taking on new Pellowah practitioner students.
