Stillness Powered Reiki - same but different.
Owen is a Reiki Master trained in both Western (Takata) & Eastern Reiki. Western Reiki is the type you probably know. Eastern Reiki is similar but different. Eastern and Western Reiki is explained here. For more about Owen's Reiki Credentials, see here. Owen's Stillness powered Reiki is simple and effective like the Eastern Reiki from Japan in the 1920-30s:
On arrival you are welcomed and shown into the studio. Todays regulations keep Reiki service standards high and require discussion with some paper work. This provides an oppurtunity to get to know you better. You will be pleasantly surprised as Owen explains what many providers don't.
The Studio is reminiscent of minimalist rooms used in past times.
Owen will not ask you to lay or kneel on the floor (they did in early Reiki!). He has found ways to capture the essential element that allows use of furniture.
Early Reiki providers were mainly male. Today, male professional members of major Reiki Associations are few (less than 5%), about a dozen in Australia. The late Dr Ainslie Meares, who originated Stillness Meditation believed women and men were equal but different including in the use of ethical touch (eg. IJCEH 1968). There is no standard sequence of positions in Eastern Reiki. Rather intuition helps to find the most effective of the standard Reiki positions through the clothing you choose to wear on the day (a blanket can be draped over clothing for warmth and privacy, if you wish). For sensitive people, hands reach out a few inches above the body (ie hovering and not touching). Your unique needs are best discussed with Owen so modifications and enhancements help your Stillness powered Reiki experience to unfold as it should.
Reiki is a holistic experience, the details of which remain sacred and secret. When all is said and done, Reiki is best experienced for one's self rather than read about on a website or in a book.
Reiki Sessions ($100/hr) may be booked Tues-Thurs as Owen devotes other days to writing, training and leisure.
